Carpenter — Kamloops, BC

Streamline Enterprises Inc (streamlineenterprises.ca) is hiring 2 Carpenters for construction projects in and around Kamloops, BC. Permanent, full-time position — Day shift, 07:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours/week. Start ASAP.

Business location: 1006B Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2C4

Wage: $25.00–$35.00/hour (negotiable)

Work setting: Construction — commercial and residential, various sites

Duties:

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials (wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and others)
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites

Requirements:

• Other trades certificate or diploma in Carpentry, or equivalent experience
• 2 to 3 years of experience as a carpenter
• English language ability
• Carpenter Trade Certification (Carpenter Red Seal Certificate an asset)
• PPE training, First Aid Certificate, WHMIS Certificate
• Fall Arrest Protection Training, CSTS Certificate, Confined Space Entry Training
• Valid driver’s licence and own transportation; willing to travel between sites (travel expenses paid by employer)
• Own hand tools and steel-toed safety boots
• Able to perform physically demanding work (bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads) with minimal supervision, under tight deadlines
